Medicare Health Initiative
As a result of unaffordability of health services due to poverty and some other Geographical constraints, access to Standard Health care services is approximately 43.3%.
MEDICARE HEALTH INITIATIVE
In Nigeria, access to healthcare remains a significant challenge for millions of people, particularly those in rural and underserved communities.
According to recent statistics from the World Health Organization (WHO) and UNICEF, only about 43.3% of Nigerians have access to standard healthcare services. This alarming figure underscores the harsh reality faced by many, especially those living in poverty and geographically isolated areas.
The lack of access to affordable healthcare services has resulted in a growing health crisis, where preventable diseases and treatable conditions often go unchecked.
Women, children, and the elderly in suburban and rural areas are the most vulnerable, facing barriers that include financial constraints, limited healthcare infrastructure, and a shortage of trained medical professionals.
What We've done so far
At Prophetess Bosede Adimabua Foundation, we are committed to bridging this gap through our Medicare Initiative.
Our goal is to ensure that no one is left behind in accessing the care they need to live healthy, productive lives. We have made significant strides in this mission:
- Provision of Free Eyeglasses: We have distributed over 5,000 eyeglasses to women in need, improving their vision and enhancing their quality of life.
- Free Medical Check-ups: Our initiative has provided free medical check-ups to over 120,000 women, including basic tests such as malaria, typhoid, blood pressure, and diabetes, enabling early detection and treatment of health conditions that might otherwise go unnoticed.
These efforts are just the beginning. We believe that with continued support and collaboration, we can expand our reach, bringing life-saving healthcare services to even more communities in need.
Together, we can transform lives, one person at a time.
